iEMDR For Headaches

Integrated Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (iEMDR) was developed by Dr. Steven Marcus. The treatment protocol involves diaphragmatic breathing, gentle head compressions, and a specific format of EMDR. It may sound unusual, but several research studies have provided evidence that iEMDR works for many people who have migraines or chronic daily headaches (CDH). Headaches may resolve in as few as one or two sessions, but more CDH may require several more sessions.

Beverly Swann has completed the training with Dr. Marcus, and delivers iEMDR in a comfortable office setting in sessions that last 1.5 hours each. At a first session, we spend some time gathering history and assessing whether iEMDR is appropriate. If there is time, we will begin using iEMDR. At following sessions, we focus on headache treatment and resolution. If you’re not sure whether iEMDR is right for you, or if you’d like more information, please contact us for a free consultation.

This service is not psychotherapy and is not billable to insurance. The fee for a 1.5 hour session is $200.00.
